Editorial Policy

TheInternational Journal of Informational Integrative Medicine (IJIIM) is an open-access scientific journal dedicated to promoting research in the field of integrative medicine, with a particular focus on bioenergetic and transpersonal approaches.

1. Publisher and Ownership

The IJIIM is published by The Bioenergy Institute, an independent research institute founded and directed by Roberto Fabbroni. The institute has been active for over 15 years in education, research, and the dissemination of information in the field of unifying medicine, with a constant commitment to free and independent research.

The journal maintains full editorial independence from the publisher. The Editor-in-Chief has final authority over all decisions regarding published scientific content, ensuring that editorial choices are based exclusively on scientific merit and the quality of the research, and not on commercial or organizational influences.

2. Editorial Structure

The scientific direction of the journal is entrusted to:

  • Editor-in-Chief
  • Deputy Editor-in-Chief (Deputy Editor)
  • Section Editors (Section Editors), experts in their respective disciplinary fields

The Section Editors, in coordination with the Editor-in-Chief, oversee the peer-review process and the selection of content for their respective sections of the journal.

3. Commitment to Transparency

The IJIIM adheres to the principles of transparency and editorial independence recommended by the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and complies with international best practices promoted by:

  • COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
  • ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors)

The journal is committed to:

  • Ensuring the integrity and fairness of the publication process.
  • Maintain high ethical standards at all stages of research, review, and publication.
  • Openly disclose any conflicts of interest.

4. Conflicts of Interest

All authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board are required to promptly disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the review process or the evaluation of a manuscript.

4.1 Handling of Articles by Editorial Board Members

Editorial board members are permitted to submit their own articles to the journal. To ensure maximum transparency and impartiality:

  • When an author is a member of the editorial board, they are completely recused from all editorial duties related to that article.
  • Responsibility for overseeing the peer review process is entrusted to a different Editorial Director who has no professional or personal relationship with the author.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed by the authors at the time of submission and, where applicable, indicated in the resulting publication.

4.2 Handling of Articles by the Publisher and Owners

The IJIIM is published by The Bioenergy Institute. To ensure maximum transparency and impartiality, the following rules apply:

Articles submitted by owners, members of the publisher, or anyone with a direct interest in the journal’s success are subject to the same rigorous double-blind peer review process applied to all other manuscripts.

In such cases, the author is completely exempt from any editorial or decision-making role regarding their own article.

Oversight of the review process and the final decision are entrusted to an Editor-in-Chief or a member of the editorial board who has no professional or personal relationship with the author.

Any conflicts of interest are disclosed at the time of submission and, where appropriate, indicated in the resulting publication.

5. Peer Review

The IJIIM employs a double-blind peer review process (double-blind peer review). For complete details on the review process, reviewer selection criteria, timelines, and evaluation procedures, please consult the page dedicated to the Peer Review Policy.

6. Open Access and Licenses

All articles published in the IJIIM are available in open access and are distributed under a Creative Commons license (specify the license, e.g., CC BY). Authors retain the copyright to their works, granting the journal the right of first publication.
