Open Access Policy

TheInternational Journal of Informational Integrative Medicine (IJIIM) is committed to promoting the free and barrier-free dissemination of scientific knowledge. All articles published in the journal are available in open access (Open Access), in accordance with the definition of open access provided by the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).

1. Definition of Open Access

The IJIIM adopts a model of immediate, embargo-free open access. This means that:

  • All articles are freely accessible online immediately upon publication.
  • No registration or payment is required from readers to read, download, copy, distribute, or use the articles.
  • There are no embargo periods (waiting periods).

Open access is made possible by the Creative Commons license under which the articles are distributed.

2. License

All articles published in the IJIIM are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

3. Copyright and Authors’ Rights

  • Authors retain the copyright to their works.
  • Authors grant the journal the right of first publication.
  • The CC BY license ensures that authors are always recognized as the creators of the work.

4. Self-Archiving Policy

In accordance with the CC BY license, authors are permitted to:

  • Deposit the published version (final PDF) or the accepted version of the manuscript in institutional repositories, open repositories (e.g., arXiv, PubMed Central, etc.), and academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
  • Share their work on their personal or institutional websites.

It is recommended to always include:

  • The full citation of the journal publication.
  • The DOI (Digital Object Identifier) of the article.
  • A statement indicating that the article is distributed under a CC BY 4.0 license.

5. Compliance with Funding Agency Requirements

IJIIM supports authors in complying with the open access policies of major research funding agencies, including:

  • NIH Public Access Policy: Articles resulting from NIH-funded research may be deposited in PubMed Central (PMC) immediately upon publication, without an embargo.
  • Plan S and other open access mandates: The CC BY license and the absence of an embargo ensure that the journal is fully compliant with the requirements of major European and international funding agencies.

6. Author Fees (Article Processing Charges - APC)

The IJIIM is an open-access journal that charges a submission fee to cover the costs of editorial management, publication, and platform maintenance.

The rates are as follows:

Discounted rate € 100.00 (one hundred euros)

The discounted rate is reserved for:

  • Authors from developing countries (as classified by the World Bank).
  • Authors affiliated with institutions that have signed collaboration agreements with the journal.
  • Authors submitting articles that align with the journal’s priority subject areas (contact the editorial office to verify eligibility).

Important notes:

  • The submission fee is charged only after acceptance of the article for publication.
  • No fees are charged for the initial submission of the manuscript.
  • There are no additional costs for publishing color articles, supplementary pages, or additional material.

Payment is intended solely to cover the journal’s operating costs and does not influence editorial decisions in any way; these decisions are based exclusively on the scientific merit of the work.

7. Digital Preservation and Long-Term Access

The IJIIM adopts digital preservation policies to ensure permanent access to published content:

  • Articles are archived on the Bibliomed.org platform.
  • The journal adheres to the digital preservation principles recommended by international best practices.
